Style guide that is versatile enough to be used as a tool by the UI/UX design teams yet also sets
the parameters for the development team to easily see the basic rules.
My Role
I was responsible for creating a much needed style guide for the MyRicoh product line.
The Challenge
It started out to be a style guide that utilized Sketch symbols so that anyone on the design team could at any time step in and create layouts simply and quickly, but it evolved into much more than that. After doing some research I discovered that many of our outside development vendors could also use a style guide to help them understand the basic rules of the MyRicoh product.
Conclusion
This project ended up being a lot of fun. I learned quit a bit about Sketch and how to use the symbol library. It also felt good putting something in place that would end up helping so many different departments. The style guide was very well received and since its release I was asked to create more of them for other areas.
